Russian forces have entered Kherson, says Ukrainian official

On March 7 and 8, the ICJ will hold Ukraine war hearings

The International Court of Justice announced Tuesday that it will convene hearings on the crisis in Ukraine on March 7 and 8, as fighting increases.

“The International Court of Justice, the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, will hold public hearings in the case concerning Allegations of Genocide under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Ukraine v. Russian Federation) on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 March 2022,”, the court stated.

According to the UN refugee agency, more than 660,000 people have already fled to other countries, with a million people displaced within ex-Soviet Ukraine’s 44 million inhabitants.

According to the UN, up to four million refugees may require assistance in the coming months, with another 12 million requiring support within the country.

Karim Khan, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, has already indicated that he will open an inquiry into the “situation in Ukraine” following Russia’s invasion.

Kyiv TV tower hit by missile, killing 5

According to Ukrainian sources, Russian forces fired on the Kyiv TV tower and Ukraine’s biggest Holocaust memorial, among other civilian targets, on Tuesday. The strikes on the TV tower killed five persons and injured another five, according to Ukraine’s State Service for Emergency Situations.

Apple has announced that all product sales in Russia have been suspended

In response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Apple has halted all product sales in Russia.

“We are profoundly concerned about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and stand in solidarity with all those who are suffering as a result of the violence,” Apple stated in a statement. “We’re supporting humanitarian operations, providing relief for the escalating refugee crisis, and doing whatever we can to support our regional teams.”

Russian and Belarusian tennis teams suspended by the International Tennis Federation

According to AFP, the International Tennis Federation, which oversees the annual Davis Cup, has announced a ban on Russian and Belarusian teams competing in its events.
